Product Strategy
Safenext is the configuration software for alarm systems produced by the same company.
The project's goal was to provide a strategic roadmap for the product's evolution, considering constraints like the progressive release of new hardware components. I collaborated with two service designers to run a discovery workshop with the client. By engaging a diverse group of professionals, we gained a deep understanding of the user journey, identified key pain points, and aligned the team on a shared vision.
After an as-is and competitive analysis, we found the software's outdated interface and complex architecture made the configuration process slow and inefficient. The addition of new features without an organic plan had misaligned the product with market expectations and installer needs. To address this, we performed extensive user research, including 10 interviews and 2 field studies, which helped us define three main critical areas.
The project concluded with a strategic roadmap that illustrated a release plan balancing user priorities, technical constraints, and available resources. We provided the client with a clear direction for the product's evolution, including practical solutions to optimize the user experience.
Through this process, we demonstrated how a user-centered approach can uncover hidden problems and create solutions that improve not only usability but also business outcomes.
